BRUCE CARVER names Vice President – Cummins Business Services and Chief Information Officer
April, 2010 — I am pleased to announce that Bruce Carver will take on the additional responsibility of leading the CBS organization, effective immediately. His new title will be Vice President – Cummins Business Services and Chief Information Officer.
In his two years at Cummins, Bruce has driven a great deal of positive change in the Company’s IT organization, including bringing the work done by CBS and Corporate IT into better alignment. Bruce also has a passion for global shared services and understands the critical role IT innovation will play in our continued work to become world class in Finance, HR and IT services.
As we look to the future, it is clear that further improvement in the work done by CBS will be heavily dependent on innovation driven largely by process improvement and information technology. Bruce’s initial priorities for CBS will be to:
- Further strengthen the IT alignment within CBS
- Place an even greater emphasis on improving the Company’s Customer Care operation
- Improving the regional approach to delivering CBS services around the world
As part of the transition within CBS, we also are adding a proven leader with extensive shared services experience to the organization. Succeeding Floyd as Executive Director – CBS will be Jim Schacht, who will join Cummins on April 19. Jim will report to Bruce and will have global responsibility for CBS’ finance, HR and customer care operations.
Reporting directly to Jim will be Regional Leaders Julie Liu, Director – China; Senthil Kumaran, Director – Middle East & Asia; Fabiano De Luca, Director – Brazil; and Sergio Piñon, Director – Mexico. Service Leaders reporting to Jim will include Dwight Bonafacious, Executive Director – HR Services; Steve Peterson, Executive Director – Accounting Services; and Mujeeb Sheikh, Director – Customer Care Strategy and Operations. Support Staff direct reports will be Krista Colquitt – Customer Support Excellence Director; and Patricia Wissel, Director – Customer Care Project Management.
Most recently, Jim served as Chief Operating Officer of Touchbase Group Ltd., a technology services company. He also has held senior leadership roles in HR and call center management at Cendant Corp., founded his own call center company and held product management roles at AT&T. In particular, Jim’s work at Cendant, where he oversaw call center operations for the company’s large rental car and hotel businesses and where he served as a Human Resources executive, make him well suited to his new role.
Jim earned his undergraduate degree in philosophy from Trinity College and his MBA from Harvard. He and his family will be relocating to Indiana from New Jersey.
