State Farm Leads the Charge for Diversity in Tech at the ITSMF Symposium

ATLANTA, JANUARY 17, 2019 – Information Technology Senior Management Forum (ITSMF) is pleased to announce State Farm as the presenting partner of its 1st Quarter 2019 Symposium and 15th annual Technology Achievement Awards. The events will be held March 7-9, 2019 at The Whitley, a Luxury Collection Hotel in Atlanta, Georgia. This renewed partnership with State Farm strengthens its commitment to the ITSMF mission at the palladium level, ITSMF’s highest partnership level to date.

State Farm has a long-standing history of leading and supporting initiatives that foster education, economic empowerment, and diversity and inclusion. From the community to the marketplace to the workplace, the company reinforces that “we’re all in this together”.

“The theme, ‘Connected: The Integration of Life and Technology’, echoes the commonalities we have between our organizations,” said DeWayne Griffin, Enterprise Technology Executive for State Farm. “As the symposium’s presenting partner, we look forward to the networking, insights, and creativity captured by the industry technology leaders over this three day experience.”

This technology, leadership and diversity event represents ITSMF’s largest attended event of the year, and commences with a networking reception. The Symposium brings together nationally-renowned speakers, industry experts, entrepreneurial leaders, ITSMF members, and students for a series of engaging and content rich sessions. The annual Technology Achievement Awards is ITSMF’s marquee event that recognizes today’s innovators and tomorrow’s game changers. The Awards Ceremony serves as ITSMF’s largest organizational and foundation fundraiser.

“As a longtime supporter of ITSMF, we are ecstatic and grateful that State Farm is serving as the presenting partner for our Q1 symposium and awards ceremony,” said Renea J. Pierre, Director of Development and Partner Engagement for ITSMF. “Together, we will continue to drive and illuminate efforts that elevate the conversation around diversity in technology.”

About Information Technology Senior Management Forum
Since 1996, Information Technology Senior Management Forum (ITSMF) has been dedicated to increasing the representation of Black professionals at senior levels in technology, to impact organizational innovation and growth. We do this by developing and nurturing these dynamic leaders through enrichment of the mind, body, and soul.  At its inception, only 3% of senior-level positions in the technology industry were held by Blacks.  With 1.2M computer-related job openings expected by 2022, ITSMF is committed to increasing the number of qualified Black professionals for these positions.  For more information about ITSMF and the STEM Education Foundation, visit www.itsmfonline.org.
